1. A dish originating in Italy, pizzas generally consists of a flat yeast dough crust topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and other toppings such as basil, green bell peppers, tomatoes, Italian sausage, pepperoni slices, mushrooms, olives, anchovies, basil, etc. The crust ranges from thin and crispy to thick and bread-like (deep dish). It can also be made without tomato sauce. There are many varieties of pizzas depending on the location.
